I was chosen to join a program called Rocky View Student Leadership Academy (RVLA). 30 students were chosen to be in this group. We meet once a month to improve our leadership skills. This group has influenced me a lot and has really enhanced my leadership skills!
Last year, I was also chosen to help organize one of Alberta's largest conferences for high school students! It is called Alberta Student Leadership Conference (ASLC). This conference hosts 1000 students, in hopes to improve their leadership skills. I will not only be organizing it, but I will be a group leader for the conference!
In 2017, I attended an 'Explore It' event at the University of Calgary to explore the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). It introduces young women to the high-tech world of information and communications technology through interactive workshops, and discovery sessions.
In 2017, I attended a conference called Horizons. Horizons is a one-day, regional conference that brings in excellent keynote presentations to provide PD for student council or leadership advisors. The full-day agenda is designed to provide participants with motivation, inspiration and information to make their school a better place to live and learn.
